Can't find your answer?
Is KeyLedger free for renters?+
Yes. Searching is open to everyone, and a renter account is free. Some owners charge an application fee, which is shown on the listing before you apply.
Do I need an account to see homes?+
No. Anyone can browse every listing. You only need a free account to message an owner, request a tour or apply.
How do tours work?+
On a listing, choose a few times that work for you. The owner confirms one, and you both receive the details and a reminder.
Are the listings from real owners?+
Homes are listed directly by owners and property managers with their own KeyLedger accounts. Never wire money or pay outside KeyLedger; if a listing looks wrong, tell us through the contact page.
How is the application fee paid?+
By card, securely through Stripe, when you submit the application. The owner sets the amount and receives it.
What happens after I'm approved?+
You sign the lease online. Once you move in, the same account lets you pay rent, set up autopay and send repair requests.
